Regional Government supports five sports associations with 180,403.40 euros for travel

The Regional Government Council approved, in a plenary session held on April 30, 2026, the signing of five sports development program contracts (CPDD) aimed at co-financing travel and daily allowance expenses for sports agents. These grants are intended to mitigate costs increased by insularity and ensure the participation of athletes, coaches, and officials in regional and national competitions during the 2025/2026 sports season.

The beneficiary entities and their respective grants are:

  • Madeira Taekwondo Association: Up to €2,224.00 (Resolution no. 428/2026) for national competition.
  • Madeira Table Tennis Association (A.T.M.M.): Up to €25,570.40 (Resolution no. 429/2026) for regional and national competitions.
  • Madeira Volleyball Association: Up to €79,275.00 (Resolution no. 430/2026) for regional and national competitions.
  • Madeira Billiards Association: Up to €32,104.00 (Resolution no. 431/2026) for regional and national competitions.
  • Madeira Regional Canoeing Association: Up to €41,230.00 (Resolution no. 432/2026) for national competition.

The contracts, approved by the Regional Secretary of Education, Science and Technology, are effective until December 31, 2026, and are financed through the budget of the Regional Directorate of Sports, within the scope of the air and sea travel support project.
