Regional Government boosts public transport concession with 60.8 million euros
The Regional Government Council approved, through Resolution no. 259/2026, the amendment to the Network and Offer Plan of the public road passenger transport concession contract, signed with the company Companhia de Autocarros da Madeira (CAM), S.A. in 2022.
This decision follows the need to adapt the service to new mobility requirements and the relocation of the Terminal 2000 to the Penteada area, in Funchal, as requested by the municipality. The main points of the measure include:
- Update of the provisional contractual price and the Net Financial Effect schedule, in a maximum total amount of 60,864,049.07 € (plus VAT).
- A specific adjustment associated with the new amendment Agreement, up to a limit of 9,367,406.07 € (plus VAT).
The Regional Secretary for Equipment and Infrastructure has been mandated to formalize the agreement, which aims to ensure the continuity and quality of service in the municipalities of Santana, Machico, Santa Cruz, and Porto Santo.
