Minimum services defined for Horarios do Funchal strike
The Regional Government of Madeira has issued a joint order from the Regional Secretariats for Equipment and Infrastructure and for Inclusion, Labour and Youth, establishing minimum services for Horarios do Funchal - Transportes Públicos, S.A. during the strike on June 4, 2026. The decision is justified by the need to ensure the population's right to travel, especially in areas where there are no alternative public transport options.

- Route Operation: 60 active routes are guaranteed (including lines 001, 002, 003, 004, 008, 009, 010, 011, 012, 013, 014, 015, 016, 019, 020, 021, 022, 024, 026, 029, 031, 034, 036, 037, 038, 039, 040, 042, 044, 045, 046, 047, 060, 061, 062, 090, 092, 110, 181) and 21 deactivated routes (005, 007, 017, 027, 028, 032, 033, 043, 048, 049, 050, 070, 082, 083, 093, 094, 105, 108, 115, 125, 131).
- Operational Staff: Definition of 106 drivers for the urban/interurban network and 2 drivers dedicated to passengers with reduced mobility (PRM).
- Support Services: Maintenance of 50% of staff in workshops, administrative services, and sales/customer service points.
- Traffic Management: Specific rosters for station managers, dispatchers (Rua Pinga, Av. Mar), and inspectors throughout the network.
The order emphasizes that the company is the sole public road transport concessionaire in Funchal, making the maintenance of these services an imperative for the region's economy and social well-being.
