The Regional Government, through the Regional Secretariat of Health and Civil Protection, has appointed doctor Jose Eduardo Tomas Cunha de Freitas to the position of General Coordinator of the Health Center Group of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (ACES), in accordance with Order no. 168/2026.
The appointment, on a service commission for a period of three years, follows the cessation of duties of Fabio Manuel Farinha Camacho. The new coordinator is a Graduate Assistant in the special medical career with a specialty in General and Family Medicine and has an extensive curriculum in regional public health, having served as Health Delegate for the Municipality of Santa Cruz and as a member of the SESARAM Emergency, Catastrophe and Biological Risk Commission.
The Regional Government of Madeira has approved the redistribution of budget charges for the renewal of the lease for the space housing the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital outpatient clinic.
The Regional Government has authorized the renewal of the lease for the property housing the Porto Moniz Health Center for another year.
