Regional Government updates price list for agricultural crop insurance

Through Order No. 237/2026, the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Fisheries has approved the official list of reference prices for the year 2025, within the scope of the fruit and vegetable crop insurance scheme. This measure, which takes effect from January 1, 2026, aims to ensure stability and accurate damage assessment in the regional agricultural sector.

The list covers a wide range of crops, including:

  • Fruit growing: Mango (€2.49), Cherimoya (€2.12), Avocado (€2.12), Fig (€3.31), Passion fruit (€4.61), and Banana (€0.92 to €1.19 depending on production method).
  • Vegetables: Lettuce (€1.46), Onion (€1.49), Carrot (€1.36), Broccoli (€2.03), and Tomato (€1.68).
  • Flowers and Ornamentals: Anthurium (€0.75), Orchids (up to €5.00), and Proteas (between €0.71 and €1.85).
  • Other crops: Sweet potato (€1.32), Yam (€1.14), and Sugarcane (€0.52).

The values were determined by the Regional Directorate of Agriculture and Rural Development, using data from the Agricultural Market Information System (SIMA) for specific cases. The full document with the average price of all products is available in JORAM No. 96, 3rd Supplement.
