CARAM updates slaughter service price list
The Government of the Autonomous Region of Madeira has updated the price lists for services provided by CARAM - Autonomous Region of Madeira Slaughter Center, EPERAM. The update reflects a 3.33% coefficient, corresponding to the variation in the consumer price index (excluding housing) recorded in the previous year.
The changes were formalized through two separate legal acts:
- Ordinance no. 147/2026: Implements the seventh amendment to Ordinance no. 113/2007, which regulates the general price list for services provided by CARAM.
- Ordinance no. 148/2026: Implements the third amendment to Ordinance no. 54/2008, which defines the specific price list for individuals slaughtering animals for self-consumption.
Both ordinances entered into force the day after their publication in the Official Journal, on April 1, 2026, and include detailed tables for various species, such as cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, equines, and rabbits, covering services for slaughter, carcass preparation, transport, and vehicle washing.
